Meredith's 36th Birthday!

Had a great birthday.  I had so many friends who made my day special. I did some shopping in the morning, went to lunch with Travis and had cake with the kids that night. Travis was so sweet and surprised me that morning with a box of Lucky Charms (my favorite cereal) and an envelope.....envelopes are always good!  It had 3 gift certificates in it: one for a massage, one for itunes, and another for Target! Thanks Hun!
My friend Amy took me out to a birthday breakfast the day before.  Then we hit Sephora (I love that place!)
Jennie took me on my birthday morning to shop and get a hot chocolate!

Some sweet gals from my ward took me out to BJ's for my birthday! Love you girls!

I wish: To live a long healthy life with Travis, that my kids will be blessed with strong testimonies of the gospel, that my family may always be safe, that I can become who I need to be in this life, that I can stay young a little longer, that I can have a close relationship with my kids, that I can find the time to do more service for others, that I can see more parts of the world, that I can keep re-falling in love with my husband over and over again! Here's to being 36yrs!

First Day of School 2012

Time for school again!  This summer went by so fast.  I have 4 kids in 3 different schools, so  I have a busy carpool schedule this year!  Brynn is in her last year of Jr. High, Kennedy and Luke got into a Charter School (reason for the uniforms), and Drew is at our home elementary school.  Neither Brynn's or Drew's names were drawn for the Charter School Lottery.  They are both now on waiting lists.

Priesthood Blessings

Our family had a couple neat Priesthood Blessing experiences:

The first one was with Drew.  He has had a lot of skin issues, eczema, dry skin, and like 8 warts.  His skin on his fingers had been cracking and bleeding, and really bothering him.  He went up to Travis and told him he would like a blessing.  Travis was so impressed that Drew came and asked him.  During the blessing he blessed his skin and that Drew would have comfort.  The next day or so all of Drew warts were gone!  I asked Drew where they all went and he said they were gone from the blessing.  Amazing!

The second one was with Kennedy.  We went to her well check up with the doctor and during the exam she noticed a curve in Kennedy's back.  She was concerned about scoliosis and had us sent over to x-ray.  I was in the room with Kennedy as they took the x-rays and saw the images of her curved spine come up on the screen.  It was really obvious.  Later that week after a radiologist read the x-rays they called us and confirmed she actually had scoliosis at a 15 degree level (anything over 10 degrees is considered scoliosis).  Travis gave Kennedy a blessing and then we were off to an ortho specialists in Loma Linda. When we got there they retook the x-rays ( I was in the room with her again), and went in a room to wait to speak to the PA.  When she came in she said she wasn't sure why Kennedy was sent to us because there was no curve detected in her spine.  She pulled up the x-ray and I couldn't believe my eyes, but her spine was straight.  Medically they couldn't explain it, but our family knew it was the power of the priesthood!

Beach Day with the Shipp's

Our friends the Shipp's were down here staying in Newport Beach for the week. We decided to go down and meet them for a day.  We played at the beach for a while and then decided to go get some food.
The Shipp's & Salisbury's
On our journey to find dinner we encountered a lot of obstacles.  The first 2 restaurants we tried going to were out of business, so then we went to BJ's in Newport.  Our GPS guided us to this car ferry!? So we took it.  It was a fun adventure, we did finally find BJ's!
Riding the Ferry with other passengers to Balboa Island. Crazy!
BJ's restaurant with 9 kid menus!

Afterward we went and walked on the Balboa Pier.  We saw all kinds of things.  Pelicans, crabs, fish, fisherman, and a school of Dolphins swimming and jumping out of the ocean.

The Pelican.
Brynn, Sophie, & Kennedy......Kennedy bought those glasses on an outing with a friend and she wore them all day.  She is totally serious when she wears them too, Oh My!
 The crab.

Playing at the park on the beach.

We went back to their resort for swimming, hot tubing, and smores!  Now that was a great summer day!

Happy 37th Travis!

For Travis's Birthday we hit the beach and decided to do some roller blading while we were there.  It was fun considering this is what Travis was doing the night we met. Except he was jumping multiple flights of stairs in front of my dorm, we avoiding any kind of stairs, or even cracks!
We roller bladed from the Newport Beach Pier to the Huntington Beach Pier. We stopped and ate at BJ's off of Huntington Main St. Then headed back.  12 miles rollerblading along the beach, a fun day, but sore ankles the next day!

When we got home the kids surprised Travis with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard Cake, and an ipad!
Later that evening we found this on our porch, it was from a YW in our ward.....so sweet.  Thanks Kelci!
I have many things I admire and love about this guy.  He is everything I dreamed that I would find in a husband.  Here are some of my top 10 favorites:
  1. His dimples.
  2. The way his smile curves.
  3. How he can make a room full of people laugh.
  4. When he cuddles me at night.
  5. Feeling safe in his arms.
  6. Watching him in action as a Bishop.
  7. How he makes me feel beautiful.
  8. How he gets me to laugh even when I am mad at him.
  9. His simple yet wise advice.
  10. His passion about the gospel & teaching our kids!

Brown Family Reunion 2012

Brown Family Reunion was held in CA this time.  We hit the beach, went to amusement parks, deep sea fishing, movies, and baseball games. Everyone came but Liz's family who was in Hawaii. We missed them, but had a great time being together!

One day each family picked whatever amusement park they want to go to.  We picked Knotts Berry Farm.  We had a great time, except for Travis. He did the first roller coaster and that was it for him. So I got to go on all the crazy rides with the kids.

Travis's first and last ride! Light weight!

One of the days the boys all went deep sea fishing.  They were so excited, but only one person caught a fish!  Bummer! Besides that they still had a good time seeing dolphins, seals, and pelicans.
