Stitches

Luke got 10 stitches Friday night.  He and his cousin were playing t-ball, and he accidentally got hit with a metal bat in the head!  Clint said it was so deep he could see his skull!  I was so grateful for family that night.  Clint rode with Travis to hold Luke and gave him a blessing while they were driving to the ER.   Then Paige came and took my kids so I could go be there by him.  He was so brave and barely cried.  He got 3 stitches on the inside and 7 on the outside.  Ironically, Travis bought Luke his first metal bat the next day.  I was teasing him that it is to make Luke face his fears.  Needless to say, there have been some new rules set in the house.  This situation could have been a whole lot worse, so we feel blessed.

Muffins For Mom

Luke's class had "Muffins for Mom".  It was so cute, and fun to be with him that day.  They sang us a song, served us muffins, then showed us around the classroom.  This is what makes being a "stay at home mom" all about.  To be there for all of the little things that means so much them.

Luke singing as a flower, I had to get the shot, because I am sure he will never again perform for me as a flower on Mother's Day.

FIRE!

This has been such an eventful weekend.  Thursday afternoon I got a phone call from a friend who informed me that she could see a fire by my house.  So I went to check it out and this is what I saw, right at the end of our cultesac! (Click on the pictures to make them bigger).

The kids and I started to run and knock on all the doors.  A neighbor called 911 and they told us that the firefighters were there and working on it.
They were using these planes to drop the dust, they flew so close to our houses that it rattled them.
All of the neighbors hoping the firefighters are getting a grip on it.
The helicopter was so close we could feel the mist from the water it was dumping on the fire.

Firefighters on our hill.
The end result

Kind of a funny story:  I had a Modbe party to go get ready for in the middle of this.  After I knew the fire was in control and there would be no need to evacuate, I went upstairs to get dressed.  Well, when I came down all done up, carrying a big bin of Modbe clothes out of my house, it looked like I was evacuating.  Travis had to joke with the neighbors that I was evacuating in style, and only packing up my closet.  Forget photo albums, birth certificates, and medical records. j/k.  The fire fighters did such an amazing job, I am so grateful to be in such good hands. Thanks Yucaipa FD!

Costco Trip Gone Bad

You know how you always go to Costco thinking you just need a few staple items.  Well that's what Travis and I went in saying........

Kamryn and Drew packed in the car like "Costco product".
......and this is how we came out. Let's just say somewhere it took a severe turn for the worse. We barely fit everything in.  The poor kids couldn't even see each other.  I kept hearing Drew calling Kamryn's name to see if she was still in the car.  Why is it that everything is so cool at Costco?  You've got to love that place.
