Kauai 2014

Hawaii Get Away 2014

Travis and I were able to slip away to Kauai......It was so beautiful.  I was amazed how lush everything was, it looked like how you imagine Hawaii to look like!
DAY #1

Opaeka Fall's

 Kilauea Light House

Here is a picture from online of the same lighthouse, it's a shot from the other side. Isn't that coastline amazing!

Queen's Bath is a natural bath next to the ocean!  Can be dangerous if the waves are rough.  Travis & I got in.  I only stayed in for only a few seconds worried any minute a raging wave would come!!

Kee Beach

Hanalei Peir on of my favorite spots......can you see the waterfall going down the mountain in the picture below?  There was another waterfall that we couldn't fit in the frame.  It looked like we were in the movies, the scenery was unreal!

Panoramic shot below...........Amazing.

Travis picked this flower for me and put it in my hair for dinner.........well it was off the ground, but it was still really pretty!  I loved the evenings in Hawaii and walking to dinner with Travis.

DAY #2
My favorite day.....Napali Coast, Waimea Canyon, sunset at Poipu
Zodiac Napali Coast Tour
It was such an adventure on this boat, it went so fast and went so low to the water we could touch it.  So when the dolphins came by the boat it was awesome! We also went inside some caves on the coast.

We could lean in so close to the dolphins we could touch them (but didn't).....we were so close I could feel the spray from their blow holes!!  It was so amazing!  They would all try and race the boat and jump to do tricks!

The Napali Coast............one of the most beautiful places I have layed eyes on!

This is the very end of the 2nd largest waterfall in the world! (So they say)

PoiPu

On Poipu Point
It was such a great evening watching the sunset over Poipu, almost like magic!

Ended the night at the yummy Tidepools with Travis, where he told me a lot of sweet nothings!  I am a sucker for those!

DAY #3
We went to church and at the end of sacrament meeting by all the local members sang us an Aloha song and gave us these homemade laies!  So cool!

DAY #4
We took a Kayak Tour down the Wailea River and then hiked(with our guide beating a drum...a little awkward) to the Secret Falls....it was really fun.  Travis said the whole time he was in back he was having to re-correct all the paddling I was doing in front.  Haha!

Wailua Falls....these were the waterfalls on the intro of Fantasy Island.

Real Hawaian Ice, and at the bottom is Macadamia Nut Ice cream!

DAY #5
Love these warning signs!!! We did an 8 mile hike along the Napali Coast!  It was 2 miles to the most dangerous beach in Kauai (88 people have died there), then hiked another 2 miles to the most beautiful waterfall that I had ever seen!  Then 4 miles back!  It was hard and tiring, but the views were well worth it!

Over looking Kee Beach and Tunnels is in the backround(where Sole Surfer got her arm bitten off).

Warning Sign before reaching the beach below.

After a long hike with mud, roots, and rocks we saw an amazing waterfall calledHanakapi`ai  Falls

We were so tired after the hike that we cooled off in Kee Beach and them snorkeled at Tunnels!

DAY #6
Enjoying the resort and waiting for my sister Liz to show up.  They overlapped our trip for a day and a half!

We all tried Stand Up Paddle Boarding, it was so fun.

Liz dared Travis to do a head stand on the paddle board, and this is what we got!  It was so funny to watch all the people on shore grabbing their camera's and watch him do this!  So funny!

Sister Power!

DAY #7

We went back up to the Waimea Canyon to see some views with Jeremy and Liz and to do one last  hike.

Very end of the road  t the Waimea Canyon overlooking part of the Napali Coast.

We hiked to the top of the waterfall in the picture below.  It was so cool to stand on that large dirt ledge and be so small in such a big canyon!
Waipoo Waterfall in the Waimea Canyon

Travis & I at the top of  the Waipoo Waterfall in the Waimea Canyon, it drops 800ft. in two tiers!

Goodbye Kauai, you were everything I hoped Hawaii would be.  I loved having 6 days alone with this guy and having time away to remind us of the strong love connection that we have. xoxo

So fun! Travis appears to have been spending some quality time with weight lifting😉. Glad you got to get away.
