Halloween Time 2010

Halloween time at the Salisbury's is always exciting because that means the beginning of the Holidays........it's so fun to see the kids faces when they come home from school and are so thrilled to see holiday decorations up in the house.

Monday night we had a fun FHE carving pumpkins and "Booing" neighbors with treats.....I must of bought a bad bunch of pumpkins because they all rotted days later. Only one made it to Halloween night. Drew still has not forgiven me for throwing away his mushy pumpkin!

On Friday we decided to do a family "spooky" dinner, watch a spooky movie, and camp in the back yard with dad. The kids loved it. Travis was in character the whole night, with a accent and all!

The Menu had: Wrapped Mummies (wrapped hotdogs), Cheesy Snails (alfredo shell noodles), witch fingers (string cheese), monster teeth (apples with almond slivers), dirty worms (gummy worms in chocolate pudding) and to drink: spider blood (rootbeer), pumpkin guts (orange soda), or Ghost mix (milk)

Camping in the backyard....as mom got the Cal King bed to herself.

My kids knew this was going to be a different Halloween since it was on Sunday. After alot of thinking Travis and I decided we wanted our kids to learn something since it was on the Sabbath. So after some fun family time they got to pass out the candy to all the neighbors and "give" rather than "take". It's hard when they are little to try and explain this to them, but they all had really good attitudes about it. Some of our sweet neighbors brought over treats early for the kids because they knew we honor Sunday. I thought that was so sweet. On Halloween Eve the kids went to our ward Trunk or Treat and got loads of candy.

Salisbury's ready for Trunk or Treat!

I hope my kids look back on this Halloween and remember there was something special about it. It was different than all the others. I am so grateful for my kids being understanding about the sabbath day.

Tuckered Out

Drew came in the house one day and crashed just like this. Tuckered out from eating snacks, playing on the swing set, coloring, and watching Mickey Mouse. Love that boy!

Two Boys For Sale

This was the final straw of a long day with two naughty boys. It was filled with tripping siblings, spraying carpet cleaner all over the house, cutting eachother's hair, and then this!

I Love to see the Temple

We decided to take a family drive on Sunday to the Redlands Temple. We are so blessed to have it 10 minutes away. Travis and I hope to bring the kids around it often, so they will gain their own desire to strive to go there someday.....

Date Night

Our good neighbors the Markham's had a couples date night. It was so much fun. This night was full of good food, hot tubing, swimming, chicken fighting, smores, and lots of laughing. You can't beat a night like that!

Hair Time

The pony tails have finally arrived......2yrs and 9 months later! It takes a lot of gel, hairspray, and bribery to get the results. Unfortunately the results only last for a hour or two and then the pony tail is just hanging on for dear life.

Meredith's 34th B-day

I had a great birthday this year.... To celebrate Travis and I went to dinner the Sat before and did a little shopping. On my birthday my brother Clint took me to lunch which was so fun spending brother/sister time together. After that I went and got my hair done (can you tell it is darker?) The kids made me the cutest cards that made me cry, and they cleaned the house for me! My friend Allison Brown made me a cake, which was so thoughtful and delicious....I love cake! Although, my birthday hit an all time high when I found a surprise entry on the blog (the previous one) with all his cute "thank you's".......and coming across #45 was a complete surprise! I seriously cannot wait!
