Eagle Court of Honor

These boys were 14yrs old when Travis was put in as Bishop.  They all got their Eagles and are getting ready to serve missions.  Quinn Meador pinned Travis as his mentor for being a leader and example to him as his bishop.  It was really sweet.

Family Weekend

We finally had a weekend with nothing planned!  So we took advantage and made a fun family date.  We booked a hotel in Anaheim, the boys headed out to an Angels Game while the girls went to Downtown Disney for dinner and some shopping.
Brynn and Kamryn meeting Cody Simpson....well his cut out.
The girls took their trading pins and had fun trading with all the workers in the Disney Stores, and finding souvenirs.

Travis and the boys went early to the Angels Game and Luke got tossed 2 fowl balls, they got all their balls signed along with their mitt, hat, and shirt. They got it signed by Jerom Williams, and TaijuanWalker (he was on the Mariners, but was born and raised in Yucaipa)

Clint's Family had the same idea and came that night too.  They all hung out during batting practice, then everyone went to their own seats to watch the game.

 The Hotel
That night the girls crashed, thought it was funny how they were laying all over each other like kittens.
My view of watching my kids swim in the hotel pool from the 6th floor.

The Beach
A really relaxing day at Huntington Beach

Salisbury Kids enjoying the beach together as brothers and sisters!
That's when you know it's been a nice weekend.

River Time

We headed up to the river with Liz on Saturday.  It's only about a 15 min drive from our house.  The kids had a good time cooling off in nature.  The kids got a big laugh when I thought Travis dropped a clump of dirt down the front of my swimsuit, but when I looked closer and saw an eye, I realized it was a frog!!!!  Soooooo gross!!! I screamed, and was extra jumpy the rest of the time there.  Sometime later I looked down in my swimsuit, and screamed again thinking something else was down my swimsuit, but it was only green thread......like I said, a little on edge.Kennedy & Brynn

Brynn's Strength

One night Brynn came home from her second church dance.  I was up waiting for her.  She was in tears, like sobbing, because she didn't get asked to dance that night by any boys.  I was so sad for her, but only spoke words of encouragement.  I didn't want her to see my tears for her because I didn't want her to think boys are worth crying over.  Yet, I was so sad for her to have to feel that pain.  So after I tried giving the best uplifting advice I could, I kissed her good night and went to bed.

I started crying in bed for her, and Travis woke up and asked what was wrong.  I told him what had happened to Brynn.  He got out of bed to go look for her.  He found her in the hall laying on the ground sobbing while reading her scriptures.  He was so impressed that a 14yr old would turn to the scriptures to try and find comfort.  He told her that the only slow dance that happens in the one after the Temple, and that one day those boys will look back at her and not know why they didn't give her a chance that night.  Then he turned on the song "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri and slow danced with her.  He wasn't going to let he go to sleep that night with out a slow dance.  Such a touching moment, for Brynn and her dad to share.  Hopefully this experience made Brynn a stronger young lady and that she will know that if any boy saw her worth the way we do, they would be lining up to dance with her.  Love you Brynn!

Rain Storm

Luke & Drew, with neighbors Ryan & Josh Horspool
We had an unexpected huge rainstorm come through with lightning, thunder, hail and flash flooding!  With in 2 minutes of it raining I saw a garbage can floating down the street.  The boys were in heaven finally getting rain to play in!

Space Science Center

For Labor Day we went into LA for the day.  We couldn't believe how light the traffic was!  We drove to USC to their Space Science Center.

The fastest jet in the world behind the kids.

They had rooms of all the different climates on the earth.  Here are the kids trying out a snowmobile for the Artic!

Kids testing out life in LA as Newscasters!

Fun day at the Space Center, they saw aquariums, and even baby chicks that had just hatched!
This stadium is right across the street from the Space Science Center.  It was where the Olympics were hosted in 1984.  You can see where the flame burned too! Great Labor Day!
